Papers of Thomas Parkin 1853, 1909

These papers of Thomas Parkin were found in volume one of Hewitson's , 1846 (2nd edition). Thomas Parkin, a Fellow of the Zoological Society and a member of the British Ornithologists' Union, placed a letter from Edward Bidwell, also a member of the British Ornithologists' Union, and a letter written by William C. Hewitson, naturalist and illustrator, in the volume. Two letters from John Grant, a bookseller, and a note, probably written by Parkin himself, were pasted into the volume and have since been removed from the volume. One of the two letters from Grant discusses J. Irvine Smith, an official shorthand writer to the Law Courts, whose name is inscribed in the volume.
